About the role
This role is for a microbiologist who can move between bench work, method performance, data review, SOPs, validation and verification design, analyst training, and technical decision-making.
The work may include culture-based microbiology, qPCR or other molecular methods, and endotoxin testing, depending on the lab's active scope.
Responsibilities
- Own technical oversight for microbiology testing workflows.
- Develop, verify, validate, transfer, and troubleshoot microbiology methods.
- Write and maintain SOPs, validation protocols, worksheets, and technical justifications.
- Review plates, colony counts, raw data, QC results, deviations, and final result packages.
- Train analysts and document competency for routine and non-routine microbiology methods.
Required qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in microbiology, biology, molecular biology, food science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on microbiology laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with qPCR or other molecular microbiology workflows.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with endotoxin methods.
- Familiarity with USP, ISO/IEC 17025, AOAC, FDA BAM, cGMP, proficiency testing, or measurement uncertainty.
- Experience leading analysts, reviewing production data, or supporting audits.
First 90 days

Laboratory Automation Robotics / Automation Engineer Cora Science is hiring a Robotics / Automation Engineer to reduce manual lab work without breaking traceability, chemistry, safety, or data quality.
About the role
This role connects laboratory workflows, 6-DOF robotic arms, lab automation platforms, instruments, sample preparation, software, and quality requirements.
The goal is durable systems that reduce analyst burden, improve repeatability, control sample identity, and make the lab easier to scale.
Responsibilities
- Map current lab workflows and identify high-value automation targets.
- Program, configure, test, and troubleshoot 6-DOF robotic arms for practical lab tasks.
- Build and improve automated workflows for liquid handling, standards prep, sample prep, rack mapping, and dilution.
- Integrate automation with LIMS, spreadsheets, instrument worklists, barcode labels, and result exports where practical.
- Write acceptance tests, IQ/OQ/PQ support materials, maintenance checklists, risk assessments, and operator instructions.
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in lab automation, robotics, analytical instrumentation, process automation, scientific software, or a closely related engineering role.
- Hands-on experience programming and operating 6-DOF robotic arms in a real environment.
- Practical programming ability in Python, JavaScript, C++, ROS or ROS2, vendor robot scripting languages, or similar.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience integrating local AI models, vision models, or LLM-based planning with robotic systems.
- Experience with ROS or ROS2, MoveIt, OpenCV, depth cameras, AprilTags or ArUco markers, force or torque sensing, or machine vision.
- Experience with LIMS integrations, instrument worklists, barcode and rack mapping, CDS exports, or audit-trail expectations.
First 90 days
- You have mapped the highest-friction manual workflows.
- One small automation improvement is live or in controlled pilot use.
- Automation protocols have better documentation, coordinates, rack maps, safety states, and operator instructions.

- Someone who wants to automate without understanding the chemistry or the physical bench workflow.

Operations Chief of Staff Cora Science needs a hands-on Chief of Staff to turn priorities into execution across a growing analytical testing lab. This is an operating role, not a strategy-deck role.

You will work directly with leadership to drive projects across lab operations, quality systems, hiring, vendor management, automation, regulatory tracking, finance, and customer-facing execution.
The company operates in a real laboratory environment with analytical methods, controlled documents, sample workflows, instrumentation, compliance obligations, and urgent day-to-day constraints.
Responsibilities
- Own cross-functional projects from unclear problem to finished implementation.
- Build operating cadences for leadership, lab operations, quality, sales, and technical teams.
- Track priorities, blockers, commitments, vendor follow-ups, and internal accountability.
- Coordinate hiring pipelines, onboarding plans, role definitions, and performance expectations.
- Step into operational gaps when ownership is unclear and create durable structure before handing work off.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operations, project management, technical services, laboratory operations, regulated manufacturing, consulting, or a similarly execution-heavy role.
- Strong written communication and spreadsheet, project-tracking, and process-design skills.
- Willingness to work primarily onsite in a laboratory and business operations environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in analytical testing, food, dietary supplements, cannabis and hemp, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, or regulated manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025, cGMP, AOAC, USP, method validation, document control, CAPA, or audit preparation.
- Hiring, people-operations, finance, or sales-operations experience.
First 90 days
- Leadership has a reliable operating cadence, project tracker, and decision log.
- Important initiatives have named owners, timelines, risks, and next actions.
- Several stalled internal projects are completed, killed, or reset with realistic plans.
